INTERESTED in VOLUNTEERING?

2016 Festival volunteers

The Rotary Burlington Music Festival is the Festival of Choice in our community and your participation as a volunteer is essential to helping create a richly rewarding experience for our young aspiring musicians.  We cannot do it without YOU. If you are a music lover, a parent or grandparent of an aspiring young musician, involved in the music industry or would like to experience the Festival first hand-we need you!

“I have volunteered at this event yearly since the first year of its inception, from Registrar to Secretary. I particularly appreciate the job of Secretary as it provides me with the wonderful opportunity of listening to these exceptional youngsters perform with their musical instruments. “Festival volunteer

About the Festival:

The 2016 Festival runs from October 31 to November 9th from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The volunteer schedule for this year's festival runs from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Rotary Burlington Music Festival requires the assistance of volunteers for three different roles:

Registrar - Checks in the festival participants and processes payment for audience members.  Click here for full job description.

Secretary - Provides support to the adjudicator by making opening announcements to each class, organizing the participants and managing certificates, medals and ribbons for the participants and competition winners. Click here for full job description.

Venue Coordinator - Ensures sufficient supplies are on hand for the Registrar, Secretary and Adjudicator and provides additional support to the Registrar and Secretary where required Click here for full job description.

(Note: The critical positions are secretary and registrar.  If you are interested in the Venue Coordinator position, contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@rotarymusicfest.org.

We are currently using an online system to allow you to select your own volunteer shift(s) at the venues you prefer.

Please go to the following url, scroll down to the Venue and Volunteer role that you wish and click the "sign up" link to the left of the day/time of the shift you want.

A pop-up window will appear with a few fields. Note that you can resize this window to suit your device.
Please complete all pertinent fields.  If you do not have a home phone, please enter your cell phone number in the Home Phone field.

Because we're dealing with children and youth, we require all volunteers aged 18 years or more to have a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) done by their local police department. If you do not have a current one (within the past year) and you are not a member of a Rotary club, you will have to apply at your local police department to have this done.  Although the police departments charge for this service, the Rotary Burlington Music Festival will reimburse you for that cost when you submit a receipt with your completed original police check document.

If you are a new volunteer who is not a member of a Rotary club, please include the names, phone numbers and email addresses of at least two references in the Volunteer Notes field.

Returning non-Rotarian volunteers who have a VSC that was done within the past four (4) years will require a current (within one year) Offence Declaration.  Download the Offence Declaration Form, print and sign it, then scan and email to info@rotarymusicfest.org.

Once you have completed all of the pertinent fields, click the "Sign Up" button at the bottom of the pop-up window.  This window will close and a smaller pop-up will appear, thanking you for signing up.  You can then select another shift from the main window - your information will be saved and imported into the new pop-up window, but you must again click the ""Sign Up" button at the bottom of the pop-up window for the second (and subsequent) shift selections to be saved.

Please also encourage your family members, friends and other persons of your acquaintance to volunteer. They can use the same sign-up url - please direct them here to our website to read these instructions.

You will receive an email within 24 hours with a link to your Personal Page which will show you all of the shifts for which you signed up.  This email may also request additional information if required.

Feel free to contact me at volunteer@rotarymusicfest.org if you have any questions or concerns about this process.

Thank you for your support!
